The Farmer and the Snake – Let’s Read

Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a kind farmer. One winter morning, while walking in his field, the farmer saw a snake lying in the field. The snake was freezing and could barely move.

The farmer felt sorry for the snake. “Poor thing,” he thought. “It will die in the cold.” He picked up the snake carefully and carried it home.

Farmer Saw A Snake In The Field

At home, the farmer put the snake near the warm fire. Slowly, the snake started to move. The farmer gave it milk to drink and felt happy that he had saved a life.

But as the snake became strong, it showed its true nature. It hissed loudly and bit the farmer’s hand! The farmer cried in pain.

“Why did you bite me?” he asked. “I saved your life!”

The snake replied, “I am a snake. It is my nature to bite.”

The farmer realized his mistake but it was too late. He died from the snake’s poison.

Moral of the Story

Never trust someone who has a bad nature, no matter how kind you are to them.
