Goodnight Moon Story – Let’s Read

In a quiet village surrounded by green hills, there lived a boy, his name was Rohan. He liked the moon, and wanted to see it every night.

Every night before going to sleep, he looked out of his window and whispered, “Goodnight, Moon!

He believed the moon was his friend, watching over him while he slept. He felt good after doing that.

he imagined the moon smiling back at him and sending him sweet dreams.

Rohan regularly shared his daily routine with the moon. He told him about his day—about the games he played, the stories he heard, and the dreams he had for the future.

Everything was going smoothly. One night, Rohan noticed that the moon was hidden behind dark clouds.

The Boy Lying On Bed And Looking Sad

He felt sad and wondered, he asked his grandmother, “Where did the moon go? Does it not want to say goodnight to me today?” But his grandmother slept.

He watched the sky and waited for long a long time, he hoped the clouds would move and he could watch the moon again.

But the moon stayed hidden. He sat by his window for a while, staring at the dark sky, feeling as if he had lost a dear friend.

Feeling lonely, he lay down in bed and slowly drifted off to sleep. He hoped that the moon would be back the next night.

Do you know friends? Many of us feel the same as Rohan that the moon is our friend.

The next morning, when he woke up, he straight ran to his grandmother and told her about it.

She smiled warmly and said,

“The moon is always there, even if you can’t see it. Just like love and kindness, sometimes we may not notice them, but they are always around us. Even when the sky is dark, the moon is still shining behind the clouds, just like the people who care for us, even when we cannot see them.”

Rohan loved his grandmother and valued her words.

Rohan nodded and thought about her words. He realized that just because something is not visible it doesn’t mean it isn’t real.

After this, he felt better but he still missed his moon friend.

Dear kids, do you love your grandparents? Let me know. Let’s move forward.

The Boy Sitting With His Grandmother

Rohan spent his day waiting for the night. That night, Rohan still couldn’t see the moon. But he remembered what his grandmother had said.

He smiled and whispered, “Goodnight, Moon” even though he knew the sky was still cloudy. He knew it was still there, hidden behind the clouds and watching over him.

His feelings were strong this time, he closed his eyes and imagined the moon listening to his words and smiling back at him. He fell asleep peacefully. He knew his friend in the sky hadn’t really left him.

The next morning was refreshing for him. He told his grandmother about his past night experience. He thanked her.

The next evening was different, the sky was clear again, and the moon shone brightly. Rohan clapped his hand with a happy face and said, “I knew you were always there.”

This thought made him happy that even when he couldn’t see it, the moon had never left him.

Dear kids, it is the same as our parent’s love and care, which is not showing but always around us.

Quote For You

Even when hidden, the moon never leaves the sky—just like love and kindness never leave our hearts.

Rohan knew some nights in every month, the moon was not visible but he could feel its presence in his heart.

From that day on, he no longer felt sad when the sky was empty or the moon did not appear.

Instead, he smiled, knowing the moon was still there, just like his grandmother had said.

He also started thinking about all the invisible things in his life—love, kindness, and the warmth of family.

That feelings was always with him, even when he couldn’t see them.

That night, as he lay in bed, he whispered, “Goodnight, Moon! Goodnight, Grandma! Goodnight, love and kindness!”

He knew that no matter what, they would always be there, watching over him and filling his life with warmth and happiness.

Moral of the Story
