The Bad Girl Story – A Moral Story for Kids in English

A Bad Girl

In a small, colourful village surrounded by lush green fields and tall trees, a girl named Riya lived. She was smart, quick, and always full of energy. But there was a problem — Riya often used her cleverness in the wrong way.

She teased her classmates, tricked her friends, and sometimes even took toys from the younger children. Everyone in the village began whispering,
“There goes the bad girl…”

This made Riya frown.
“Hmph! I don’t care what they think,” she would say. But deep inside, she sometimes felt lonely.

The Day Everything Changed

One bright afternoon, all the children gathered near the river to play. They were laughing, skipping stones, and splashing water when suddenly they heard a faint yelp! yelp!

A small puppy had fallen into the water and was struggling to stay afloat.

“Oh no! The puppy is drowning!” cried Meena, Riya’s friend.

“We have to do something!” shouted Arjun.

But the water was deep, and none of the children dared to jump in. Everyone panicked, except Riya.

She stepped forward bravely.
“Quick! Give me that long stick!” she commanded.

A Bad Girl Drowning The Puppy

Arjun hesitated, “But… it’s too dangerous, Riya!”

Riya’s eyes sparkled with determination.
“Trust me. I can do this.”

She stretched the stick toward the puppy and shouted,
“Hold on, little one! You can do it!”

The puppy clung tightly to the stick, whimpering. With all her strength, Riya pulled it to safety. The children gasped and then burst into cheers.

“You saved it, Riya!” Meena hugged her.
“That was so brave!” added Arjun with wide eyes.

The puppy wagged its tail and licked Riya’s hands, making her giggle for the first time in a long while.

A New Beginning

That evening, the children went home talking excitedly, not about “the bad girl,” but about the brave girl who saved a life.

Riya looked up at the sky and whispered to herself,
“Being kind feels so much better than being mean. I don’t want to be the bad girl anymore.”

From that day on, Riya used her cleverness to help her friends, share her toys, and stand up for others. Slowly, the nickname disappeared.

Now, whenever people spoke of her, they smiled and said,
“There goes Riya, the kind and brave girl.”
