One chilly evening, just before bedtime, Max heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen. It sounded like a tiny tap-tap-tapping, followed by a soft squeak.

“Mom! Dad! There’s a noise in the kitchen!” Max called out, his eyes wide with excitement.

Mom smiled and said, “It’s probably just the wind, Max. Let’s go check it out together.” But Max wasn’t convinced. He grabbed his favorite flashlight and tiptoed into the kitchen, his heart racing with excitement.

As they entered the kitchen, they saw a small, gray mouse scurrying across the floor. The mouse paused for a moment and looked up at them with its tiny beady eyes, then darted under the table.

Look, it’s a mouse!” Max whispered in awe.

The mouse didn’t seem scared, though. Instead, it peeked out from under the table, twitching its nose as if to say, “Hello!

The Mouse in the House – Detailed Version

Max was a curious and kind boy who lived with his parents in a small, cozy cottage. Their home was at the edge of a big forest, where tall trees stood like silent guards.

The cottage had warm, glowing lights and a soft, crackling fireplace that made it feel safe and comfortable. Max lived happily with his family.

It was a chilly autumn evening. The wind blew gently through the trees, making the leaves rustle. Outside, crickets chirped, and an owl hooted in the distance.

Inside the house, everything was quiet and peaceful—until Max heard a strange noise coming from the kitchen.

How are the beginning friends? Do you like mice?

The Strange Noise in the Kitchen

Max was getting ready for bed. He put on his soft pajamas and was about to climb into bed when—tap-tap-tap! He froze.

The sound was coming from the kitchen. He listened carefully. Squeak!

His eyes widened. “Mom! Dad! I hear something in the kitchen!” he shouted.

Mom looked up from her book and smiled. “It’s just the wind, Max. Don’t worry.”

Dad nodded. “Yes, the wind sometimes makes funny noises at night.”

But Max wasn’t sure. It didn’t sound like the wind. It sounded like tiny footsteps!

His heart started beating faster. What if it’s a secret visitor?

Max grabbed his favorite blue flashlight from the table. He held it tightly and tiptoed toward the kitchen.

The wooden floor made a soft creak under his feet. The house was quiet, except for the sound of the wind outside.

Slowly, he peeked into the kitchen and pointed his flashlight inside. What could it be?

Max and Squeaky Become Friends

Max held his breath as he spotted the tiny gray mouse under the table. Its little nose twitched as it looked at him with shiny black eyes.

Instead of feeling scared, Max felt excited. “You’re so small!” he whispered with a smile.

He reached into his pocket and found a small cookie crumb from his snack earlier. Slowly, he placed it on the floor and waited.

The mouse stayed still for a moment, then took a tiny step forward. It sniffed the air, twitched its whiskers, and—nibble, nibble, nibble—it ate the crumb!

Max grinned. “You like cookies, don’t you?”

The mouse looked at him for a second before scurrying away behind the cupboard.

For the next few days, Max kept seeing the little mouse in different places—peeking from behind the chair, running across the floor, or hiding near the fireplace.

Every time he saw it, he smiled. “I think I’ll call you Squeaky,” he said one day, because of the soft squeaky sounds it made.

Each night, Max left a tiny cookie crumb in the same spot near the table. And every morning, the crumb was gone.

Max knew Squeaky was coming back. A tiny friend had found a home in their house.

A Special Bond Forms

As the days passed, something amazing happened—Squeaky started to recognize Max!

Whenever Max sat quietly at the table, Squeaky would peek out from behind the cupboard. Sometimes, it would run across the floor quickly, then stop and look at Max, as if saying “Hello!”

Max loved watching Squeaky. The little mouse had the tiniest paws and the softest whiskers that twitched every time it sniffed the air.

It moved so fast, running in circles and jumping over tiny crumbs like it was playing a game.

One night, as Max was getting ready for bed, he heard a soft squeak. He turned around and saw Squeaky at his bedroom door!

Max smiled. “Are you saying goodnight?” he whispered.

Squeaky twitched its nose and then ran away into the dark hallway.

Max climbed into bed, feeling happy. He now had a tiny, special friend in the house.

Should Squeaky Stay?

One evening, as Max was playing near the kitchen, Mom and Dad finally saw Squeaky.

Mom gasped. “Oh! There’s a mouse in the house!”

Dad frowned. “We can’t have a mouse running around. What if it chews on things?”

Max’s heart sank. “No, please! Squeaky is my friend! He’s harmless and doesn’t cause any trouble.”

Mom and Dad looked at each other. Max’s eyes were full of hope.

“Are you sure, Max?” Mom asked gently.

Max nodded quickly. “Yes! He just eats tiny crumbs and plays around. He’s not scary at all!”

Dad thought for a moment and then smiled. “Alright, Squeaky can stay—but only if he behaves!”

Max grinned. “Thank you! I promise he’ll be good.”

Squeaky peeked out from under the table as if he understood. From that day on, he truly became a part of their home.

A New Friendship in the House

After Mom and Dad agreed to let Squeaky stay, Max felt happier than ever.

Every day, Squeaky would peek out from behind the furniture, watching Max with his tiny black eyes.

Sometimes, Max would talk to him while doing his homework. “I have so much to study today, Squeaky,” he would say.

The little mouse would twitch its whiskers as if listening.

Max started to notice that Squeaky had his own little habits.

He was playful, curious, and always quick to run and hide. But he was also brave—he never seemed scared of Max.

One evening, as Max sat on the floor reading a book, Squeaky appeared nearby. Max smiled. “Do you like stories too?” he asked softly. Squeaky twitched his nose and sat still as if waiting to listen.

The little mouse brought so much joy to the house.

Even Mom and Dad started to smile when they saw him. Max had learned something special—even the smallest creatures have feelings, and a little kindness can create the sweetest friendships.

Happy Ending

Max had never thought that such a tiny creature could become such a special friend. But now, he knew that kindness and friendship can come in the smallest ways.

Squeaky was not just a little mouse; he was a part of their home, a quiet friend who brought happiness with his tiny squeaks and playful ways.

Every night, as Max lay in bed, he would hear a soft squeak, squeak from the kitchen. It made him smile. Squeaky was still there, reminding him that even small things can bring big joy.
