Read The Sparrow and the Storm – Short Moral Story on Courage. The story is intended for children aged 5-10.
Once upon a time, in a vast green meadow, there lived a little sparrow named Chirra. Every morning, she sang sweet songs that filled the valley with joy. The other animals admired her voice and often gathered to listen.

One day, the wise old tortoise warned all the creatures,
“A great storm is coming. Gather food and build shelter, or the winds will sweep you away.”
The sparrow, however, fluttered her wings and laughed.
“I’m too small for the storm to find me. Besides, the sun is shining — why should I worry?”
While the ants dug deeper tunnels and the squirrels stored nuts, Chirra spent her days singing in the open sky.
Soon, the clouds turned dark. The wind howled through the trees, bending them to the ground. Rain lashed the meadow.
Chirra tried to fly, but the storm was too strong. Soaked and trembling, she finally found a crack in a rock to hide in.

When morning came, the storm had passed — but the meadow was changed. Many trees had fallen, and the animals were busy repairing their homes. The little sparrow, weak and hungry, realised her mistake.
She went to the tortoise and said humbly,
“I thought I was safe because I was small. But even the smallest must prepare for hard times.”
The tortoise smiled kindly,
“Wisdom doesn’t come with size, little one — it comes with foresight.”
From that day on, Chirra sang her songs after her work was done — and her melodies became even more beautiful, filled with gratitude and wisdom.
Moral:
Never ignore wise advice. Preparing for the future is the best song you can sing.
