Two Cats And A Monkey Story – Let’s Read
One sunny day in a small village, two cats named Ginger and Snowy were exploring the streets.
They were playful and curious, always searching for something to eat or a fun adventure. That day, their noses led them to a fresh loaf of bread under a tree.
Ginger spotted the bread first and jumped on it. “This is mine! I found it!” she said.
Snowy wasn’t going to give up easily. “No way! I saw it too. It’s mine as much as it’s yours!” she argued.
The two cats began fighting over the bread, meowing loudly. Their noise caught the attention of a clever monkey sitting in a nearby tree.
The monkey swung down and said, “What’s going on, my furry friends?”
Ginger and Snowy both started talking at once, each trying to explain why they deserved the bread.
The monkey listened carefully, then smiled and said, “Why don’t I help you? I’ll divide the bread equally for you both.”

Feeling relieved, the cats agreed. The monkey tore the bread into two pieces, but one was bigger than the other. “Oh no,” he said, “one piece is larger. Let me fix that.”
He took a big bite from the larger piece. Now, the smaller piece looked bigger. “Oops, now this one is larger,” he said and took a bite from the other piece.
This went on until the bread was almost gone. Only two tiny crumbs were left. The monkey quickly ate them, rubbed his belly, and said, “There! All fair now.”
Ginger and Snowy stared at each other. They realized the monkey had tricked them. Laughing, the monkey climbed back into his tree.
From that day, Ginger and Snowy learned an important lesson: it’s better to share than to let someone else take advantage of their fighting.
After that, they became the best of friends and always shared what they found. The monkey, however, was forever on their “do not trust” list.
Moral of the Story
When we fight over small things, we may lose everything. Cooperation and sharing lead to harmony and lasting friendships.
